WARP Solutions Announces DataReactor Trade-Up Program for K-12 Education Market
Program Offers Schools Price Incentives on Software to Ensure CIPA-Compliance
of Online Content and Improve Overall Web Performance and Capacity
NEW YORK (June 2, 2004) – WARP Technology Holdings, Inc. (OTC BB: WRPT), a leading provider of network and application acceleration software, today announced a new trade-up program for its DataReactor software targeting K-12 schools and educational institutions. Through June 30, WARP is offering K-12 schools and educational institutions a 50 percent discount on its DataReactor Web caching and content filtering solution.
The DataReactor trade-up program is geared toward schools that currently have a caching system deployed and are looking to upgrade, refresh, or replace their existing third-party solution, such as Inktomi, Volera, BlueCoat, Cisco, and Network Appliance. In addition to improving Web performance, WARP’s DataReactor caching software provides comprehensive content filtering capabilities that can be integrated with tools from third-party vendors such as N2H2, 8e6, WebTrends, SmartFilter, and Cerberian.
With the Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA), schools are faced with the challenge of adhering to regulations, such as using technology protection measures to block or filter online content, and adopt an Internet safety policy. DataReactor ensures CIPA compliance, allowing schools to guarantee content is appropriately filtered without affecting Web performance.
“Schools are increasingly delivering courses, curriculum, and a wide variety of information to students online, and their existing caching solutions may not be suitable to manage the mix of static and dynamic content, as well as adhere to the growing privacy regulations,” explained Michael Liss, WARP’s Chief Operating Officer. “Our DataReactor software offers a flexible alternative, and provides cost-effective solution to deliver and filter content faster, all without the need to add expensive infrastructure upgrades and build-outs.”
Many school districts are looking at caching technologies for a variety of compelling reasons, including bandwidth congestion relief, content filtering, streaming media for e-learning initiatives, or simply to replace their existing, outdated systems. DataReactor powers some of the fastest caches in the world. It offers unparalleled performance and resource efficiency, which allows educational institutions to optimize their existing technology infrastructure.
This trade-up program reinforces WARP’s commitment to the education market, and follows several recent strategic announcements, including one with Education Networks of America (ENA) and another with Astrum. Both companies are leading suppliers of technology and services educational institutions.
ENA has implemented WARP’s DataReactor product to improve the speed and performance of Web-based content, curriculum, and courses delivered over its proprietary network. Last week, WARP also announced a strategic alliance with Astrum to deliver content management and caching solutions to K-12 and higher educational institutions.
“We have identified a specific void in the K-12 networking market,” explained Mr. Liss. “Many schools have existing Web caching solutions, but often these solutions are no longer supported by the incumbent vendors. The trade-up program we are announcing today offers a viable, cost-effective alternative, as well as an upgrade path to expand performance and capacity of their Web-based applications and content.”
