Working with Estafet, WARP’s UK partner, Holiday Autos’ 160-seat call center achieved a ten-fold increase in application performance and reduced average call time by 30 percent from three minutes down to two. As a result, agents can now deliver faster service and handle more customer interactions per day.
A subsidiary of lastminute.com, Europe’s largest online travel site, Holiday Autos operates in 40 countries and offers low cost car rental in over 4,000 locations worldwide. In addition to its Internet-based bookings, the company’s UK call center located in Camberley uses a Web-based application to manage thousands of customer requests, including reservations, rental service extensions, upgrades, and cancellations.
WARP’s SpiderCache helped Holiday Autos eliminate bottlenecks and speed transaction processing times of its Web-based booking application from six seconds to six-tenths of a second. This ten-fold performance increase helped ensure timely, and more responsive customer service. Additionally, the new system reduced the number of required application servers by nearly 50 percent, while providing more capacity.

According to Estafet, WARP’s UK-based partner who implemented the solution, it is estimated that Holiday Autos can save hundreds of thousands of dollars each year, and in the process, realize better per-agent productivity using SpiderCache. Since agents can handle more calls, Holiday Autos can scale its customer service volume without the need to add more staff.
