WARP Signs Strategic OEM Partnership with ApplianSys to
Deliver Advanced Caching Appliances in Europe
LONDON (October 10, 2003) – WARP Technology Holdings, Inc. (OTC BB: WRPT), a leading provider of network and application acceleration technology solutions, today announced a strategic OEM partnership with ApplianSys Limited, a fast-growing provider of server appliances in Europe. According to the terms of the deal, ApplianSys will launch a new line of CACHEBOX appliances that integrate WARP’s DataReactor technology. This new appliance will offer advanced static caching functionality, enabling organizations to dramatically improve performance of content and applications delivered over IP-based networks.
“We regard the WARP DataReactor software as the world’s leading-edge Web caching technology that is powering some of the fastest caches in the world,” explained Mike Clark, CEO of ApplianSys. “With WARP DataReactor we are adding premium products to our CACHEBOX range, providing advanced Web caching functionality to improve the delivery of static content and other Web-based applications.”
As part of the strategic partnership, ApplianSys will market the new CACHEBOX appliances in the UK, Ireland, and throughout Europe. Clark is enthusiastic about the market potential. “Working with WARP achieves twin objectives for us. Having become a major UK player in caching for education in just over 12 months, WARP DataReactor will allow us to become the clear market leader. And these products will be very attractive to corporate markets, where we sell large quantities of our other product ranges.” In the education market, these new products will have strong appeal to larger schools advanced in IT development, such as streaming deployments. Managed service providers operating in the education sector will particularly appreciate the manageability WARP DataReactor gives across large populations of caches. ApplianSys’ broad customer base of colleges and universities will also be targeted. In the corporate arena, the company sees significant opportunities in financial and professional services sectors, and others similarly rolling out content-intensive applications.
“This strategic partnership with ApplianSys reinforces our channel strategy, and extends the reach of the WARP DataReactor product in key vertical markets,” explained Anthony Huggett, WARP’s UK General Manager. “As a provider of server appliances, ApplianSys will further extend the capabilities of its CACHEBOX product line, delivering even more powerful caching solutions to help organizations increase performance and availability of Web-based content.”
WARP DataReactor is the leading Web caching software product which has won several awards, including the highly competitive IRCache Cacheoff benchmark test which it won 3 years straight. The software offers a flexible, non-intrusive solution with a broad range of caching modes to significantly improve the speed, performance, and distribution of static content.
WARP DataReactor and WARP SpiderCache product lines, along with the WARP 2063e and WARP 2063 appliances, are part of the company’s GTEN (Global Transaction Enabled Network) architecture, which includes a series of hardware and software solutions that significantly improve network and server performance, optimize the delivery of static and dynamic Web content, and achieve distributed application acceleration on a global scale.
Added Clark, “We are excited not just about the WARP DataReactor product, but also the opportunity to work with the company. While other vendors have withdrawn from or de-emphasized caching, WARP has built a coherent strategy focused in this space, seeing a growing market need, which we agree with.”
