For Immediate Release:
WARP Solutions Bolsters Global Sales & Marketing
Initiatives with Key Hire
Gus Bottazzi, Formerly with Volera, Joins Executive Team as
Vice President, Global Sales and Marketing
NEW YORK, NY (June 24, 2003) – WARP Technology Holdings, Inc. (OTC BB: WRPT), a leading provider of network and application acceleration technology solutions, today announce that it has dramatically strengthened its executive management team with the hiring of Gus Bottazzi as Vice President, Global Sales and Marketing. Mr. Bottazzi joins WARP from Volera, where he was Global Vice President and General Manager. The hire reinforces WARP’s sales and marketing initiatives, as well as the company’s commitment to expanding its channel partnerships in the US and throughout the world.
Mr. Bottazzi assumes worldwide sales and marketing management responsibilities, and will lead WARP’s global sales team. According to Karl Douglas, president and CEO, WARP Solutions, Bottazzi will play a pivotal role in the company’s future. “Coming from Volera, Gus brings a broad range of sales and marketing expertise especially in the areas of caching and content delivery solutions. He will play a key role in implementing new programs to drive sales for our application acceleration solutions, as well as develop vertical market strategies for the entire product line.”
WARP recently announced its intent to acquire iMimic Networking, a developer of Web caching solutions. This follows the acquisition of SpiderSoftware, a provider of dynamic content caching technology in January.
“I am excited to leverage my expertise in developing strategic sales and marketing initiatives for WARP’s application acceleration product line,” said Bottazzi. “This powerful combination of application acceleration software and appliances provides organizations with a full array of choices to improve the speed, performance, and scalability of applications and content delivered over IP-based networks.”
Mr. Bottazzi’s first strategic sales initiative is WARP’s Inktomi Replacement program designed to offer organizations using Inktomi Traffic Server or other static caching solutions in transition with a cost-effective, high performance alternative. Through its “Inktomi Replacement” program, WARP is introducing special pricing and a migration plan to its DataReactor Web caching software, as well as the availability of an API to further customize existing applications.
“With the addition of Mr. Bottazzi to our executive team, we are fully confident in his sales leadership abilities in rallying our troops and focusing the sales efforts in the U.S. and abroad,” said Douglas.
Mr. Bottazzi was previously with Volera, a leading provider of software-based web acceleration solutions. During his tenure at Volera, Bottazzi: re-architected the sales operation of the America’s sales team that led to dramatic increases in revenue within two quarters; increased the sales pipeline substantially; and closed prestige accounts in the Financial, Legal, Insurance and Education verticals. The culmination of Bottazzi’s sales initiatives was the launch of a national co-marketing sales promotion and campaign with Dell targeted at the K-12 segment of the market, resulting in a six figure impact to Volera’s revenue. Prior to Volera, Bottazzi held various sales and marketing positions at Globix Corp., Black River Communications (founder of company), Call Sciences Inc., Winstar Communications, and AT&T. Bottazzi holds a Cum Laude Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics and Biochemistry from New York University.
