For Immediate Release:
iMimic Networking and WARP Solutions Announce the Industry’s
First High-Performance Mac OS Web Caching Solution
HOUSTON, TX (April 28, 2003) – iMimic Networking, Inc. and WARP Solutions, leading providers of Web content caching and application acceleration solutions, today announced the immediate availability of the iMimic DataReactor Web caching software specifically designed to support the Mac OS X operating system. This new version of the DataReactor product suite is the first caching technology to support Mac-based environments, including the high-performance Xserve systems.
Following the recent acquisition announcement between iMimic and WARP Technology Holdings, Inc. (OTC BB: WRPT), the parent company of WARP Solutions, both companies will aggressively market the new DataReactor product, especially to the education market niche.
According to Filip Vandenbussche, COO of iMimic Networking, "iMimic’s DataReactor Core is the first high-performance Web caching solution for Mac OS X-based systems such as Apple’s Xserve. This new release is part of our strategy to extend the market for the award-winning DataReactor caching technology which is available on a broad spectrum of operating systems. Mac OS X is the most recent addition to our product line which also includes FreeBSD, Linux and Solaris.”
The availability of DataReactor for Mac OS X is specifically designed to address the growing demand from schools, universities, and libraries that need a caching solution for their Apple Xserve environments. The company is currently working with several educational institutions to improve the performance and delivery of their Web content.
“In addition to performance, iMimic solutions focus on manageability. Our Control Room tool allows administrators to easily configure and manage proxy caches from a central location as well as to pre-position content,” said Raj Pagaku, lead engineer at iMimic for the Mac OS X project.
The iMimic DataReactor Caching solution supports all forms of Web caching, including proxy, transparent and reverse proxy, as well as multiple servers per reverse proxy. DataReactor Core is engineered to be compatible with most L4/L7 switches and also supports ICP.
In addition to conventional HTTP caching, DataReactor Core provides FTP, search engine, message board and query caching along with cache content pre-positioning. DataReactor Core also enables enforcement of various access control policies. The software is easy to install, and provides a wide variety of configuration and monitoring options, capable of handling the highest-demand Web caching environments.
iMimic’s performance leadership in the Web caching market was first established at the highly competitive IRCache Cacheoff benchmarks for caching appliances. iMimic led the competition 3 years straight. Furthering its commitment to delivering innovative technology solutions, iMimic recently signed a letter of intention to be acquired by WARP Technology Holdings, Inc. (OTC BB: WRPT), a leading developer of application acceleration solutions for distributed Web applications. Together the companies will develop a broad range of software and hardware solutions to help organizations improve the performance and delivery of Web-based content and applications.
