WARP Solutions Unveils Industry's Most Efficient Edge Transaction Accelerator
WARP's ETA Eliminates Transaction-Processing Bottlenecks Throughout Global and Local Internet-Based Architectures, Speeds Processing Time up to 10X
May 30, 2001 - New York City -- WARP Solutions, the leading innovator in Web content delivery, today announced the availability of its flagship product: Edge Transaction Accelerator (ETA) version 2.1. ETA is the industry's premiere solution for optimizing the delivery of the increasing amount of transaction-dependent content traversing the Internet. ETA takes a giant leap beyond current caching technologies, enabling enterprises that rely on transaction-based content to globally distribute their transaction processing resources for individual applications. Moving transaction processing closer to the Internet edge dramatically improves network performance and reliability while speeding global transaction processing times by as much as 1000%.
"WARP Solutions' ETA product is addressing a very real problem in Internet content delivery," said Michael Hoch, senior analyst in Internet infrastructure for Aberdeen Group. "ETA has the potential to greatly accelerate the way enterprises deliver Web content based on transaction-dependent data."
There have been two major advances in the content delivery market in the last few years. First, there was static page caching. Second, static page caching was moved to the edge, where it is closer to the end user. The second development effectively reduced the amount of traffic routed through a company's network infrastructure by up to 30%. WARP Solutions' ETA technology keeps an additional 40% of application server requests at the edge - further promoting application server and data server scalability.
"It's all about preparing for the inevitable growth in broadband wireless, including 3G," said Mike Jackman, EVP of Marketing and Business Development, WARP Solutions, Inc. "Advances in wireless technology are already drastically increasing transaction volumes. When a million wireless device users query a freeway traffic site or try to make restaurant reservations through a system at the same time, the demand on legacy systems will be overwhelming.
"By moving transactions to the edge, WARP Solutions has enabled enterprise-level customers to globally distribute transaction processing and create Active - Active database server configurations within local sites. This eliminates the transaction-processing bottlenecks in both global and local Internet-based architectures. ETA utilizes session management and replication latency information to provide content-aware user routing to ensure that end users are always directed to the site and database containing the most current information for their request. Vendor-agnostic at the database and application server layers, WARP Solutions' ETA is fully compatible with RDBMS products such as Oracle, IBM DB2, and Microsoft SQL Server, as well as with application server software such as BEA, Websphere, ATG, and Blue Martini.
